Carol; Gastomyzon are often sold as Hong Kong Plecos so I'm sure they are the same. I have heard that they are sometimes sold as coldwater algae eaters. I have mine in an unheated tank that varied from about 70-74F. Since I added a powerhead it is a constant 74F. Most of what I have read gives the temperatures for these fish as 68-75F, others at 72-75F. You probably couldn't go wrong with keeping the tank in the low 70's. By the way, my Gastomyzon are not the most efficient algae eaters, but they are fun to watch. Good luck. Jim
