Dyed loaches

One lfs in my area, who normally does not do such things, accidentally got 2 modestas that have been dyed red. They look very healthy considering the trauma this must have been for them. They are active and while I have not personally watched them eat, it's obvious they do eat because their size and body shape are good.

Should I rescue these guys when my bigger tank is set up if they are still in the store? Does anyone know if the dye job will fade? (I hope so.) Are there any special health problems I should look out for in the future because of their awful experience?

Thanks for anything that will help.
