In Response To: philodendrons (loach lover)

I too have heard of many folks hanging philodendrons in their tanks. Its quite common in open top tanks. I have one draped over the side of mine. Its been there about a month now, the fish have been fine.

I think the problem is when the leaves are ingested. just because its toxic to one animal doesn't mean its toxic to all life forms. Also, One part of the plant can be toxic while the rest of the plant is quite edible. I believe apple seeds contain cyanide. ?? I'm not sure about that one but I seem to remember a hearing that. I think that the pointsetta bloom is toxic while the rest isn't. Of course... I wouldn't bet my life on either of those facts. lol
