Stunted Clowns?

I now have a 31 gal tank which is a softwater community setup with 4 clown loaches. I use external canister filtration and RO water for water changes. This has been my setup for the last 6 months, previously I had a 2 foot tank which the fish were in for approx. 3 years.

Water Parameters

Ammonia - nil Nitrte - nil Nitrate - 30ppm pH - 6.8 to 7.2 gH - 5 kH - 3


I have never had a problem with ammonia or nitrite in my tanks but had problems with high nitrate levels in the two foot tank. The fish never grew much at all in the old tank - they just stayed at around 2 to 3 inches. The fish have had white spot once, which was treated with a bottled remedy, the spots went and the whole community recovered. From time to time my loaches and other fish flick off rocks and two of my loaches - the smallest ones - have pale black bands compared to the other two. All my fish have good appetites and the loach c
