Horseface Loaches

I was wondering if anybody out there has a Horseface Loach. I have three of them, I've had them for about five or six months. I hardly ever see them, once in a great while I'll see one of them pop up out of the gravel, swim a little further down the tank and then hurry back under or I'll see a litte head sticking up. Are these guys nocturnal? I used to worry that they were dead 'cus I never saw them and I'd search through the gravel for them, then I just gave up. I saw one peeking up out of the gravel today and he looked like he grew so they have to be eating. At night just before I shut the lights out I throw in sinking pellets and an algae chip for my night guys. Does anyone know of a food that I can feed the Horsefaces that might lure them out during the day? I think they are really cute and I'd like to see them more.
