Hiding Clown Loach

I bought a clown loach three weeks ago. He's about three and a half inches in length and shares a tank with 3 two inch clown loaches and 8 Tiger barbs. I haven't seen him since, but I know he's alive(I had to move the rocks to make sure he's still alive). Do you think he's still acclimating to the new environment or is he just shy? Is this something he'll outgrow eventually? Anyone else have one that hides all day? My water conditions are fine and I leave the light on about 4 hours a day(not including the sunlight it receives during the day). All my other fish appear healthy and I haven't seen any of the fish being aggressive towards him. Thanks.
