odd clown swimming patterns

Our two clowns are swimming up and down with their noses against the aquarium glass and look uncomfortable--some darting around. Anyone seen this kind of movement before? We didn't see any spots of ick but went ahead and treated with two days of half doses of QUICK CURE & darkened the tank, followed by a 40% water change with gravel vacuum. Water levels tested in the normal range, though the PH was slightly acidic. (Water temp. at 80 with added aeration.) Their tank mates, six cardinal tetras, seem to be fine. Should we do another round of med.or could this be something else??
