elephant nose fish

Hi, there!

I am quite new here. I have my aquarium for about two months. And I think something is wrong. All fish is doing okey except one - elephant nose fish. I know it is sencitive to ph level. But I measured ph today and it was about 6.8 which I think is not so bad. The amonia test was also normal. The only thing that 's bothering me is some brownish residue on the walls and gravel. What can cause it? What do you think I should do? People in the pet store were not much of help. I change carbon in my filter today. I am not sure if i should use ph up. Any advise would be appreciated.
