I 'm sure all of us that have Clown Loaches regularly see them grubbing about in the gravel for tasty morsels. Has anyone seen systematic digging though?

The other day, one of mine was hovering over a gap between 3 pebbles, which are about 1" each in diameter, and fairly flat. He reached down between them and carefully removed pieces of the fine, black gravel, one at a time , and with a turn of his head placed them carefuly on top of one of the pebbles. This carried on, very deliberately for about 2 mins. when he obviously found what he so desired, and then swam away.

I've never seen loaches involved in such systematic digging. It's more what I expect from
