The "hardiest" loach?

I am interested in asking those of you most familar and knowledgeable of loaches which is the hardiest? I have started an asian tank (both fish and live plants) and have grown very keen on introducing loaches into my tank, particularly ones that may inhabit the bottom of my tank. I recently purchased two beautiful clown loaches only to have them succumb very quickly to ick and die a very quick death (dead in two days). I instituted treatment immediately and everything...it was sad, they are beautiful. My question is, knowing as I have been reading that as a group they like both clear/clean water and are also known as "hardy," are all of the loaches prone to ick (as I know the clowns are or can be) or are there some species that you could rec
