"Mongoose Botia Loach?"

During my lunch time, I visited a couple of LFS in Dallas. I came upon a Loach that I'd only seen one other time -- in Seattle. That particular fish, I had purchased. I really liked everything about it, except that it was so very aggressive! :-@ I placed a small clay flower pot in the tank to see if this would change the fish's behavior. Sure enough, it's aggression turned into territorial behavior; it claimed the flower pot as it's homebase and chased anything (Tetras, Corys, Botias, you name it) away from it's turf. I kept it only a week, and traded it in.

The fish has a body shape similar to a "Horsefaced Loach," but has a Botia-type face. The body is silver with about 16 dark bands. They were called "Mongoose Botia Loaches," and were only $4.99 each. Anyone have a scientific name or pic of these fish to add to the archives?

Then I went across the street to the other store, and they had Large (6-7") Tiger Botias. Hmmmmmmm. Time to add these to my current tank? Eh, I'm a little chicken folks! Hahaha! Maybe I'll be getting an additional tank soon? :-)
