clown loach varieties?

from looking at the map of indonesia on this web site, it stated that clown loaches are from borneo and sumatra (and could possibily come from other near by islands). this made me wonder that since borneo and sumatra are 2 places separated by ocean, could it be that there may be more than one species of clown loaches? sort of like darwin's finches. for some time i have noticed at local pet shops that some clowns have a very blunt nose while others have pointed nose. furthermore, the clowns in the stores come in batches of blunts or points, never mixed. aside from the shape of the noses, i have not observe any other major differences.

have anyone notice this? it would be interesting to hear yo
