Edible Dojo Loaches.

I was watching a BBC/PBS TV show Full Circle with Michael Palin (of Monty Python fame). Today's episode was touring in Japan, and at one stop in a Tokyo restaurant, the house specialty was dojo loach.
The dojo loaches are introduced (dumped) live into a bowl of Saki (rice wine). After swimming around (and fermenting) in the saki, the loaches are added to a soup base (by this point they are quite dead), chopped leeks are added, and served. The loaches are eaten whole, head, bones, et al.
And to tell the truth, it didn't look all that bad... :)
Pass the chopsticks, would you please?
